Just a short walk from Piazza Sant'Antonio
The Grand Canal of Trieste was longer as today, and reached up to lick the church of St. Anthony. The end of the channel was covered in 1934 with the debris resulting from demolition of the old city, thus obtaining the present Piazza Sant'Antonio. Also a small damaged torpedo boat that was moored and abandoned there since the end of the war was buried with the channel.
